SFP™ Wrap-Up: Best Tracks of 2011

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
And now, for our end of the year wrap up, the best quality, the crème de la crème, cream of the crop and it don't stop. Our favorite songs from the brain-reverberating year that was 2011, running the genre gamut from chillwave to dubstep to electr-oh-no, to a digitalism so soulful and trance-inducing that it transcends classification-- carefully curated by our crew:

Big Bad Wolf (Gesaffelstein Remix) - Duck Sauce First off, if you're into eerie, acid sounding rave shit,  continue to enjoy Paris-based Gesaffelstein.

Paradis Circus - Massive Attack vs Burial Super mega next level dismal UK shit laced with sexy female vocals to lull you into the most wet dreams. Think of her as an aural succubus you needn't work hard to imagine (the soundscape does it for you).

Araab Muzik - Streetz Tonight 2011 A delicious edition of 4 AM by Kaskade, by Araab Muzik. It's was the greatest thing to hit my New Year's party. Ten times sexier, and twice rejuvenated.

I Remember (Prod. by AraabMuzik) - Kaskade So this is "I Remember" by Kaskade, but an incredibly dope version of it, also produced by AraabMuzik.

Garden (Joe Goddard Remix) - Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs Yes, this is Joe Goddard of Hot Chip, but you didn't even know his name. It's the same vocals you so miss from ye olde UK electronic-indie band with some sweet female vocals wrapped up all in it. Plus the now-famous TEED, though you didn't know who he was when I first posted this.

Have A Cigar (Wick-it Remix) - Pink Floyd A remix by Wick-it The Instigator The same dude who brought us the dubstep remix of Charlie Sheen's 'Tiger Blood' interview. If you love Pink Floyd (which you do), this will take you back. And I mean all the way back.

Ruckus The Jam - Zeds Dead A sexy bassline drums the build-up only to be bombed with vocals and the signature Zeds Dead synths and riffs. You would know it was them anywhere, anytime.

Wildfire - SBTRKT The staccato love song of the summer. Get down to this. It's sweet and sounds even better if you add some bed springs in the mix. Instant classic!

Blue Jeans - Lana Del Rey What I initially said about this: "The artist? She's the singer-songwriter alter-ego of Lizzy Grant. The genre? Hollywood pop & sad core. The verdict? I can dig." AND NOW LOOK.

Video Games (BALAM ACAB Remix) - Lana Del Rey  I fucking love Balam Acab more than life itself, as I do Lana Del Rey. So for the two to coexist on one aural plane? Surreal. You're very welcome.

Lofticries - Purity Ring Daring. Synths everywhere, and it's all constantly moving toward a crescendo. Mix that in with the ethereal vocals (sort of ghostly), and you've got a rather special mixture.

Sadness Is A Blessing (Gold Panda Remix) - Lykke Li Gold Panda + Lykke Li is more than unexpected. It's not upbeat, like the rest of those Lykke Li remixes you've got. Shit's dreamlike, creating an ambience of ethereal drowsiness you can only peacefully succumb too. The title says it all.

Jai Paul - BTSTU This track celebrates the reappearance of Jai Paul. Completely unique. Beautiful harmony contrasted with a throbbing bass that can only compare to the sounds of the gods gettin' at it. Sick vocals too, sonnn.

Stay Away (Salem Remix) - Charli XCX Best ((drown wave)) ever. It was definitely my personal favorite song for a while, regardless of the fact that we don't cover this type of lo-fi shit as much as we will in the future. Salem for the win. Plus, the video is a kult classic in my brain.

Roommates (Remix) - Now, Now If you hear how lame the original is (it doesn't pale in comparison, it gets softly killed) you'll understand my obsession with this track. Indie rock from Minnesota? Who knew they produced good shit in the middle of nowhere? Sexy female vocals and even sexier beats.

And Stars, Ringed - Blue Sky Black Death at 2:00 it gets incredibly sexy with that violin or whatever the fuck

Summon The Sound (Christian AIDS Remix) - S.C.U.M. Blast this in a dark room with good friends and styrofoam cups filled to the brim. Not for those who want to party, but for those who want to take a trip for the 4th dimension. Stay Positive and Paperweight (vs Murkage), also by Christian Aids-- now known as Stay+ -- are equally good.

Red Alert (feat. Ratatat) - CSS Shit. What a rad collaboration. Starts off with a Ratatat piano riff infused with sexy female vocals from our favorite Brazilian rock band, CSS, and escalades from there.

Got To Give It Up (Kill Them With Colour Remix - Marvin Gaye Yeah, I know. You're fuckin' stoked. Can you say doo-wop electro? Yesssum, and you very well should. And if you don't already know Kill Them With Colour from their KiD CuDi "Symphonies" remix, here's a taste of the classics: Colours (Original). KTWC-- yet another Canadian gem.

The Golden Age (Justice Remix) - The Asteroids Galaxy Tour Basically, Justice took the Danish pop band's shit and added in their signature funky guitar while retaining Mette Lindberg's craycray vocals. And she's probably pretty hot (<<< aka click that duhhh).

Comin to get us (Designer Drugs Remix) - The Death Set This is basically what I crush shit to. I have this playing in the background. And the foreground. And the sky. The Death Set? They're an Art Punk group from Australia. These crazy punk female vocals we'll get you going, alright.

Hits Me Like A Rock (Dillon Francis Remix) - CSS This is dope as dope can get. From moombahton to luvstep and everything in between, Dillon and CSS consistently nail it. Hell, that's Mad Decent for ya.

Who The Fuck Are You - Cory Enemy & Dillon Francis From the Ultra EP by Cory Enemy and Dillon Francis. It was awesome, it was free, and they didn't even bother to get it signed to a label. Definitely some of the best and sexiest sampling of the year.

Time (Pretty Lights Remix) - Pink Floyd Just vibetoit. Twerk it. Fuxxx wit it. Pure nommyness and that's all I can say.

Feel So Close (Benny Benassi Remix) - Calvin Harris
I was in between this one and the NERO remix, but this one actually goes harder. Timeless electro, for the win.

Ice Cream Truck - MartyParty This is extra funny if you've seen the latest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, but that's beside the point. Starts off with the source of the trauma, then becomes the trauma, then traumatizes you.

Turn It Down (Le Castle Vania Remix) -  Kaskade Feat Rebecca & Fiona Straight from ATL, Le Castle Vania has certainly been tearin' it up this year, and we've concisely been there for you, covering it all. Sex-electro for everyone!

Turn It Down (Nause Remix) - Kaskade Feat Rebecca & Fiona These female vocals are sexy and you're sexy. And how cute are Rebecca & Fiona?

Shave It (501 Remix) - Zedd Shake it up (up up up up up up up up!). Yeah this is pretty much all over the place and delicious, like your sex.

I Know The Truth (Bonnaroo 2011) - Pretty Lights I can't explain why this is so sexual to me. Pretty Lights dropped it at Bonnaroo, as you can see from the title because you're not stupid. If you were, you'd be on some other website.

Levels (Skrillex Remix) - Avicii Skrillex's insane, filthy bootleg. It's everything we love about house, and everything we love about dubstep, morphed into one piece of ass.

Kick Out The Epic Motherfucker - Dada Life Picture a molten metal lion roaring at the top of a mountain, and that lion has giant red boots, and they kick you in the face every time you yawn. If you find the little human chants from the video annoying, download this version too.

It's been a great year with you guys. Much love,
your favorite psychopaths, the SFP crew.
