Gesaffelstein aka Mike Levy stands apart from the current techno scene in Paris. At the moment when techno and dubstep are producing new heroes amongst a handful of french DJs, Levy has chosen a different route for his musical expression. His energizing techno, dark and obsessional, works the dance-floors yet at the same time continues to mine emotional landscapes and powerful atmospheres.

Born in Lyon in 1985 -  the year that saw the birth of Chicago House (Marshall Jefferson's 'Move your Body') and legendary releases by electronic new wave and EBM (Electronic Body Music) artists like 'No Shuffle' by Front 247 - it was in fueling his musical references from the 90s that this young French producer infused his dance music and remixes (for Cassius, Lana Del Rey, Moby, Rebotini, ZZT or Boys Noize..) with a particular tension. Inspired by Kraftwerk but also electronic music from both punk and New Wave. Gesaffelstein mixes current techno with cutting rhythms and dissonant tones from pioneers like DAF, Front 242 or Nitzer Ebb; a kind of 'dance metal' to borrow the expression coined by brittish DJ and producer. Pumped Up Kicks (Butchy Clancy Remix) - Foster The People I like more genres then the EDM genres. Indie music is something that is sooo smooth and awesome. Foster The People are kings in this genre and Pumped Up Kicks is my favorite track made by them. This is a nice dubstep remix of my favorite.


Vandalism (Lazy Rich Remix) - Porter Robinson, Amba Shepard In about two weeks I will see one of my favorite producers live. This producer is the same age as me (which is unbelievable) and makes true BANGERZ! Who am I talking about? Porter FUCKING Robinson!!! Vandalism (Original Mix) is SICK but Lazy Rich made it even more bangin'!


Technologic (F.O.O.L Remix) - Daft Punk Everybody that loves EDM loves Daft Punk. So when someone makes a sick remix of a Daft Punk track these people should go crazy. LET'S GO F.O.O.L! Oh, btw, I'm seeing Porter Robinson at a festival. F.O.O.L is also preforming.
